The Security Supervisor oversees hotel security operations to protect guests, employees, and property.
The role coordinates safety and security programs and supports a safe, welcoming environment.
Security operations
- Lead, train, and supervise security officers and guards; schedule shifts and assign tasks to provide 24/7 coverage.
- Monitor CCTV, fire panels, emergency and panic alarms, and other systems for suspicious activity or incidents.
- Patrol public areas, guest floors, parking lots, and back-of-house areas; maintain a visible security presence.
- Respond to emergencies and disturbances, investigate incidents and complaints, and document findings.
- Enforce access controls, verify identities in restricted areas, and coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services.
Risk and prevention
- Identify security risks and vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
- Implement preventive measures to reduce incidents, theft, and property damage.
- Coordinate with front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and other teams to support security and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications and experience
- Degree or professional qualification/certification in a security-related field.
- Three years of relevant security experience in a four- or five-star hotel or community compound residences.
- More than three years of supervisory experience or three years in law enforcement or the military.
- English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency; strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Operational capabilities
- Proficiency with security equipment and systems, including CCTV and fire, emergency, and panic alarms.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively and familiarity with local security laws and regulations.
- The source lists experience in CPR, first aid, firefighting, crowd control, and traffic control.
