Teaching and classroom delivery
- Support each child’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in a nurturing, stimulating environment.
- Prepare the classroom and create theme-based lesson plans that encourage curiosity and engagement.
- Facilitate hands-on, Montessori-inspired learning and age-appropriate tasks that build exploration, independence, and life skills.
- Adapt teaching to individual needs and manage learning and shelf activities effectively.
- Supervise and support teaching assistants in classroom activities.
Assessment and child development
- Observe and assess children’s development and adapt teaching strategies to diverse needs.
- Prepare monthly observation reports and yearly assessment reports twice a year.
- Support regular parent-teacher meetings and maintain child development, assessment, observation, and portfolio records.
Social-emotional development and safety
- Promote social skills, collaboration, inclusion, emotional well-being, curiosity, and a love of learning.
- Follow classroom health and safety protocols and report accidents.
Collaboration and development
- Participate in professional development and apply current educational methods in the classroom.
- Collaborate with parents, address children’s individual needs and feedback, and assist colleagues when needed.
Education and credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Montessori Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
- Relevant Montessori education certification and valid teaching certification.
- CDA certification in early childhood education.
Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience as a preschool or early-childhood educator in a Montessori or similar setting.
- Demonstrated success creating and implementing engaging curriculum plans.
