Provide support in a childcare setting, assist teachers, and contribute to young children's well-being and development.
Qualifications and experience
- Must hold a childcare qualification such as CACHE Level 1 or CACHE Level 2.
- Practical childcare experience as a nanny or babysitter is identified as relevant experience.
Classroom assistance
- Arrange classroom furniture and adapt layouts with the teaching team for daily activities and lesson plans.
- Prepare arts and crafts materials and supplies.
- Sanitize toys and play areas, and promptly identify maintenance or cleanliness issues.
- Participate in team meetings and training, and contribute ideas to improve childcare services.
- Communicate with the teaching team and parents about children's well-being.
- Provide additional support when colleagues in OS are unavailable.
Childcare and safety
- Keep children clean and comfortable throughout the day.
- Monitor diaper-changing supplies and keep the changing area organized.
- Assist with changing children's clothes as needed and ensure they are dressed appropriately for activities and weather.
- Prioritize safe handling of infants and toddlers and follow safety protocols during diaper changes.
Knowledge and skills
- Knowledge of child development and early childhood education.
- Knowledge of health and safety, hygiene and personal care, classroom management, and arts and crafts.
- Communication skills.
