Role overview

Procurement and supplier management

• Manage procurement of MEP materials, equipment, tools, and accessories; source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors.
• Compare quotations and negotiate prices, payment terms, credit, delivery schedules, and warranties.
• Prepare purchase orders, material requisitions, and procurement schedules; maintain supplier and procurement records.
• Track material availability, lead times, deliveries, and outstanding orders; handle returns, replacements, damaged goods, and supplier issues.
• Seek cost savings while maintaining material quality, project specifications, approved budgets, and authorization procedures.

Project coordination and materials

• Coordinate material requirements with project managers, MEP and site engineers, quantity surveyors, storekeepers, and accounts teams.
• Verify materials against technical specifications, submittals, consultant requirements, and project standards.
• Procure HVAC equipment, ducting, pipes, fittings, valves, pumps, cables, cable trays, conduits, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and firefighting materials.
• Follow up with suppliers to deliver materials on time and support urgent project requirements.

Qualifications and experience

• A bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field is required.
• At least 4 years of UAE experience in MEP procurement in construction, contracting, or interior fit-out is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of MEP materials, equipment, specifications, and UAE local supplier markets is required.
• Experience in supplier sourcing, quotation comparison, price negotiation, and purchase order preparation is required.
• Understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting materials is required.
• Experience coordinating with MEP engineers, project managers, site teams, and accounts departments is required.

Skills and systems

• Knowledge of procurement documentation, delivery schedules, material submittals, and inventory coordination is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and procurement or ERP systems is required.
• Negotiation, communication, organization, time management, and ability to meet tight deadlines are required.

Preferred experience

• Dubai and wider UAE construction market experience is preferred.
• Experience with commercial or residential construction, fit-out or refurbishment, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, MEP subcontracting, or turnkey projects is preferred.
