Construction Manager

Role overview

Project and site management

• Manage construction activities from project commencement through completion; plan, organize, and coordinate daily site operations.
• Supervise project managers, project engineers, site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Ensure works follow approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Monitor project progress, manpower, equipment, materials, and resource allocation.

Coordination, compliance, and delivery

• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities.
• Ensure compliance with UAE building regulations, authority requirements, health and safety standards, and quality procedures.
• Review schedules, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor project costs, control budgets, and minimize wastage.
• Attend site meetings and provide regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
• Review drawings, method statements, material submittals, and project documentation; resolve site technical issues with relevant departments.
• Ensure timely project handover and completion of snagging works.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of construction experience, preferably with a contracting company in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of UAE construction practices, building regulations, and authority requirements.
• Proven experience managing large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent leadership, team management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and meet tight project deadlines.
• Good knowledge of construction drawings, project planning, cost control, and quality management.
• Proficiency in MS Office and project management software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.

Preferred profile

• A UAE driving license is an advantage.
• Substantial experience in UAE contracting companies and managing projects from mobilization through final handover is preferred.
• Strong coordination with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers is preferred.
• Immediate availability or ability to join within a short notice period is preferred.
