Bayut & dubizzle invites applications for six-month internships in its Business Intelligence department.
The Machine Learning Intern participates in projects spanning the data science lifecycle, from data cleaning and exploration to visualization and machine learning development.
The role works in a cloud-based data warehousing environment and liaises with product and technology, business verticals, trust and safety, finance, and other departments.
Responsibilities
- Query large datasets with SQL and feed data to machine learning models.
- Explore data to find patterns and assess the state and quality of available data.
- Use Python to analyze data and build statistical models for business problems.
- Evaluate machine learning models and tune parameters for the business problem.
- Collaborate with senior peers to deploy machine learning models in production.
- Build customer-facing reporting tools that provide insights and track system performance metrics.
- Participate in the off-hours on-call stability rotation supporting live machine learning models.
- Contribute to team culture and work on cutting-edge big data projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in AI, Statistics, Math, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Good understanding of statistical modeling and mathematics.
- Basic knowledge of machine learning algorithms and SQL.
- Basic knowledge of visualization tools such as Periscope.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and strong problem-solving skills.
