Position overview

Teaching and academic duties

• Develop, deliver, and evaluate courses in computing and IT, including computer architecture, assembly language, network fundamentals, database management, and cloud computing.
• Evaluate student progress and manage resources in the learning environment.
• Mentor junior colleagues and teaching assistants and collaborate with department and college colleagues.
• Liaise with industry and educational institutions and participate in industry advisory committees.
• Coordinate, manage, and control projects within the program area.
• Maintain course portfolio documents for accreditation and engage in instructional development and improvement plans.
• Contribute to professional and community life within the university and beyond.

Education and experience

• A master's degree in a computing field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology, with an undergraduate degree from an accredited university.
• At least three years of teaching experience in post-secondary, adult training, or industry training.
• Demonstrated leadership in building engagement and partnerships with the profession and industry.

Language and preferred qualifications

• Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
• Professional certification in Computing and Information Technology is preferred.
• A diploma in Education is preferred.
• Three or more years of relevant practitioner or professional employment experience is preferred.
• Additional teaching experience in post-secondary, adult training, or industry training is listed under preferred qualifications.

• Commitment to applied and experiential learning, continuous professional development, and lifelong learning.
• Ability to design, develop, deliver, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments using contemporary tools and resources.
• Digital literacy, fluency in technology systems, and ability to model use of current and emerging digital tools for research and learning.
• Ability to develop technology-enriched learning environments and supervise capstone projects.
• Effective oral and written communication, collaboration, and rapport-building skills.
