Position overview

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver, and evaluate courses in Marine Engineering and related programs.
• Evaluate student progress and manage learning-environment resources.
• Liaise with industry and educational institutions and participate in industry advisory committees.
• Coordinate and supervise final-year and capstone projects.
• Maintain course portfolio documents for program review and accreditation.
• Contribute to instructional and new program development.
• Enhance applied research and innovation.

Education and experience

• PhD in Marine Engineering or a closely related field, including Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Propulsion Systems and Engine Control, or Thermofluids.
• Degree must be from an internationally recognized and accredited institution.
• Academic excellence at recognized institutions; at least five years of academic experience after the PhD.
• At least three years of industrial experience related to the field.
• Competency in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
• Experience using varied teaching approaches, including laboratory, simulation, and practicum instruction.
• Ability to use varied educational technologies and platforms.

Research and other qualifications

• Ability to conduct independent applied research with potential for significant impact and research impact.
• Professional recognition among peers, proven publications, and firm plans to generate research income.
• Commitment to applied and experiential learning and ongoing professional development.
• Digital fluency and ability to use current and emerging tools to support research and learning.
• Effective communication and collaborative relationships with learners, colleagues, employers, and community members.
• Experience in leadership and innovation in technology-based projects.
