The role requires knowledge of façade systems, UAE construction standards, local authority requirements, and project execution procedures.
Responsibilities
- Develop façade design concepts, shop drawings, technical drawings, and detailed construction drawings.
- Prepare layouts, elevations, sections, and fabrication details for aluminium, glass, curtain wall, cladding, and other façade systems.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to resolve design and technical issues.
- Review architectural and structural drawings for discrepancies and design compatibility.
- Prepare material specifications, technical submissions, method statements, and material submittals.
- Check designs against UAE regulations, project specifications, and authority requirements.
- Coordinate with site, fabrication, and installation teams on implementation of approved designs.
- Incorporate consultant comments; assist with material selection, system optimization, and value engineering.
- Issue drawings and documents in line with project schedules and quality standards.
Qualifications and mandatory experience
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 6 years of UAE façade design and detailing experience is mandatory.
- Strong experience with aluminium and glass façade systems, curtain walls, skylights, cladding, and other building envelope systems.
Technical skills and knowledge
- AutoCAD proficiency is essential.
- Revit, BIM, and other façade design software experience is advantageous.
- Understanding of façade shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation details, and technical submissions.
- Knowledge of UAE construction practices, applicable building codes, and authority approval procedures.
- Ability to read architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Strong coordination, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills; able to work independently and meet deadlines.
Preferred profile
UAE façade consultancy, contractor, or specialist company experience is preferred.
Experience on high-rise, commercial, residential tower, hotel, or mixed-use projects is preferred.
Immediate or short-notice availability is preferred.
