The Assistant Operations Manager – Transport joins the Logistics Services team at the company’s headquarters in DAFZA, Dubai Airport Free Zone.
The role reports to the Operations Manager and manages daily passenger transportation operations, regional KPIs, service levels, and assigned-area costs.
The role supports fleet management through operational reporting and compliance inspections and works with fleet and compliance teams.
Responsibilities
- Improve service to internal business units while maintaining performance for end-user clients.
- Maintain cost controls and operational metrics against area scorecard requirements; manage area supervisors and operational KPIs.
- Manage the operational P&L, monitor annual spending against budget, report variances, and deliver CPH within budget.
- Execute vehicle scheduling, route planning, and employee transport.
- Implement fleet and operational policies and procedures, enforce compliance, and optimize drivers’ daily schedules.
- Analyze vehicle, driver, and schedule patterns to improve utilization, reduce transport costs, and recommend cost controls.
- Manage transport suppliers, quotes for new routes, and ad hoc service requests.
- Maintain the Transport Risk Register and address issues and vehicle risks reported by staff.
- Assess driver and staff performance, report strengths and development areas, and train, appraise, and motivate staff.
- Lead deployment of GPS and TMS tools for smart routing and scheduling.
Selection criteria
- Degree in Logistics required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience in large-fleet transport operations; passenger-transport experience is an advantage.
- At least five years’ experience in a transport-related vocation.
