Responsibilities
- Greet and seat customers promptly, present menus, and answer questions regarding menu items, specials, and beverages.
- Accurately take customer orders, input them into the POS system, and relay them to the kitchen staff.
- Deliver food and beverages to customers in a timely manner, ensuring that all orders are correct and meet the café's standards.
- Monitor tables to anticipate customer needs, provide refills, clear finished dishes, and reset tables for the next guests.
- Upsell additional products and menu items to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the dining area, service stations, and restrooms. Follow all health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with kitchen staff, baristas, and other team members to ensure efficient and smooth service.
- Process payments, handle cash and credit transactions, and balance the cash register at the end of the shift.
- Address customer complaints and concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to the manager when necessary.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in a high-volume café or restaurant is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong multitasking abilities, and a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Professional appearance and adherence to the café’s dress code.
