The Junior Barista prepares coffee and other beverages, supports customer satisfaction, learns coffee preparation and calibration, and helps maintain an organized workspace.
Beverage preparation and service
- Prepare coffee and non-coffee beverages according to company recipes and standards.
- Maintain consistent drink taste, quality, and presentation.
- Take orders accurately, answer menu questions, and serve customers promptly and professionally.
Stock, cleanliness, and teamwork
- Assist with stock monitoring and restocking; report low levels of ingredients to the Senior Barista or Supervisor.
- Keep the coffee station and equipment clean; follow hygiene and safety standards, including regular cleaning and sanitizing.
- Help maintain the seating area and work with the team to support smooth service during busy periods.
Learning and development
- Participate in training to improve coffee-making skills, product knowledge, and customer service techniques.
- Stay informed about new brewing techniques and COMO Lounge products.
Qualifications and skills
- One year of barista experience is listed as required; another qualification statement says experience is advantageous but not required.
- Enthusiasm for coffee and customer service is essential.
- Basic coffee preparation knowledge is preferred; training will be provided.
- Good communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and attention-to-detail skills are expected.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure during busy times.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate weights when restocking supplies.
