Purchasing & Store Officer role in the food and beverage sector.
Manages supply chain operations, inventory control, and procurement of food, beverages, and operating supplies.
Purchasing and suppliers
- Source food ingredients, beverages, kitchen equipment, packaging, and general store supplies.
- Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate competitive pricing, credit terms, and delivery schedules.
- Review requisitions, issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and research savings or alternative suppliers without compromising quality.
Store and inventory
- Inspect deliveries for quality, quantity, weight, and expiry dates against delivery notes and purchase orders.
- Organize the storeroom and use FIFO and FEFO stock rotation practices.
- Monitor stock levels, conduct daily, weekly, or monthly counts, investigate variances, and report inventory accurately.
Quality, compliance, and administration
- Follow food safety and hygiene requirements, including EFST and HACCP, temperature control, and correct storage.
- Handle defective or rejected goods, returns, and vendor credit notes.
- Maintain purchasing, stock movement, and invoice records in the inventory system.
- Coordinate with kitchen and finance teams on food cost percentages and budgets.
Preferred qualifications
- Purchasing and storekeeping experience, including two years preferred.
- Two years in a central kitchen and two years in food and beverages are preferred.
- A diploma is preferred.
- Supply Chain Management certification or Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% is preferred.
Work location
- Work is in person.
- Commuting to or relocating to Al-Ayn before starting is preferred.
