The Timekeeper maintains accurate workforce attendance, working-hour, overtime, site-access, and labour-utilization records on construction projects.
The role supports payroll preparation, manpower reporting, and compliance with company policies, client requirements, and labour regulations.
Timekeeping and reporting
- Record site personnel, subcontractor, and labourer attendance; verify timesheets, biometric records, gate passes, and manpower reports.
- Track overtime, shifts, absences, and leave requests; prepare daily, weekly, and monthly attendance reports.
- Coordinate with site supervisors to validate attendance and labour allocation and record hours for payroll.
- Maintain attendance databases, monitor labour productivity and deployment, and reconcile records with payroll and HR.
- Report absenteeism, overtime costs, and workforce statistics.
Compliance and documentation
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, company policies, and project contractual requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information.
- Support project audits and client inspections by providing manpower documentation.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of timekeeping, payroll support, or site administration experience; construction or contracting experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of labour laws and payroll procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, attendance systems, and ERP software.
- Strong numerical, data-entry, organizational, and communication skills; able to work in a fast-paced construction site environment.
