Experience and Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of MEP quantity surveying experience in the UAE/GCC construction industry.
  • Experience with leading MEP contractors on high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, healthcare, or infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, drainage, electrical, ELV, and infrastructure services.
  • Experience in pre-contract and post-contract commercial management.

Technical Competencies

  • Expertise in MEP quantity take-offs, measurement, cost planning, budgeting, and estimation.
  • Experience preparing and evaluating variations, claims, extensions of time, and cost impact assessments.
  • Experience with subcontractor procurement, tender analysis, contract administration, and commercial negotiations.
  • Ability to prepare interim payment applications, monthly valuations, cost reports, and final accounts.
  • Knowledge of FIDIC contracts, contractual obligations, and commercial risk management.
  • Ability to review drawings, specifications, and BOQs for commercial implications.

Project Commercial Delivery

  • Manage commercial aspects of large-scale MEP projects from award through final account settlement.
  • Coordinate with project managers, planning teams, engineers, consultants, and clients.
  • Support project cash flow management, cost control, forecasting, and reporting.

Software and Systems

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and commercial reporting tools.
  • AutoCAD, Navisworks, and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with BIM-based quantity extraction and cost management is preferred.

Key Attributes and Preferences

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and commercial acumen; excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple project priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with problem-solving and decision-making capability; leadership skills in commercial team and subcontractor management.
  • UAE/GCC contracting experience is essential.
  • Tier-1 MEP contractor experience is highly advantageous.
  • Availability to join within a short notice period is preferred.
