About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Services Venue Manager (Permanent Infrastructure) to support the delivery of a major international sporting event in Saudi Arabia.
This role will be responsible for ensuring that all permanent venue infrastructure and technical systems are fully operational, compliant, and tournament-ready.
The successful candidate will act as the primary point of coordination between venue operators, facility management teams, contractors, technical service providers, and tournament functional areas to ensure seamless venue readiness and event-time operations.

Venue Infrastructure Readiness
- Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of venue infrastructure readiness activities across assigned competition and non-competition venues.
- Ensure all permanent venue facilities and technical systems meet event operational requirements and timelines.
- Conduct venue inspections, readiness reviews, audits, and technical assessments.
- Monitor infrastructure-related action plans and drive issue resolution with relevant stakeholders.
Technical Services Management
- Oversee the performance and readiness of permanent venue systems, including:
- + Electrical power distribution and backup power systems
- + HVAC systems
- + Water supply and drainage systems
- + Fire detection and life safety systems
- + Elevators and escalators
+ Building Management Systems (BMS)
- + CCTV and security infrastructure
- + ICT and communications infrastructure
- + Public address and emergency communication systems
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and validation activities where required.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the key liaison between venue owners, facility management teams, contractors, government authorities, and event stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with operational functions including:
- + Venue Operations
- + Security
- + Spectator Services
- + Broadcasting
- + Media Operations
- + Hospitality
- + IT and Telecommunications
- Facilitate regular coordination meetings and ensure alignment on venue readiness milestones.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify infrastructure risks and operational vulnerabilities that may impact event delivery.
- Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans for critical venue systems.
- Ensure compliance with event requirements, local regulations, safety standards, and venue operating procedures.
Event-Time Operations
- Support venue technical operations during test events and tournament periods.
- Coordinate technical response teams and service providers to resolve infrastructure-related incidents.
- Monitor venue performance and ensure rapid issue resolution during event operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Services, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 8-12 years of experience in technical services, facilities management, venue operations, infrastructure management, or engineering roles.
- Proven experience managing complex venues, stadiums, airports, convention centers, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Experience supporting major sporting events, international events, exhibitions, or large public gatherings is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of building systems, utilities, and technical infrastructure.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and government entities.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and event periods as required.
