Technical Manager (Civil Engineer)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead technical activities across construction projects and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, standards, and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings; oversee shop drawings, submittals, method statements, and material submissions.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, resolve technical issues, guide project and site staff, and manage RFIs, technical queries, design clarifications, and value-engineering proposals.
• Coordinate technical deliverables with planning, procurement, QA/QC, and construction teams; review specifications, BOQs, tenders, and contracts for risks.
• Lead technical meetings; monitor design development, approvals, and material submissions; resolve technical challenges with practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Manage and mentor technical teams, control technical documents, support variations and non-conformances, and assist with handover, as-builts, testing, commissioning, and close-out.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 8–10 years of relevant construction or contracting experience, including technical leadership or management.
• Experience managing technical departments or multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, and MEP coordination; construction drawings, submittals, specifications, and contracts.
• Knowledge of UAE construction standards, authority requirements, building regulations, construction methodologies, design coordination, value engineering, and project execution.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and relevant engineering or project-management software.
• Experience managing consultants, subcontractors, technical approvals, and client coordination.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong UAE/GCC building-construction experience, including residential, villa, townhouse, or high-rise projects, is preferred.

Pay

• Pay is AED 15,000–20,000 per month.
