Project Engineer - Plumbing & Drainage

Role overview

Project and site duties

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise plumbing and drainage installations in accordance with approved drawings and project specifications.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documents before execution.
• Supervise water supply, hot and cold water piping, sanitary drainage, soil and waste pipes, rainwater drainage, and plumbing fixture installation.
• Coordinate with HVAC, electrical, firefighting, civil, structural, and architectural teams to prevent clashes and site conflicts.
• Monitor daily site activities, manpower, materials, and subcontractor performance; coordinate with consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors on clarifications, inspections, approvals, and site needs.
• Prepare and follow up on RFIs, inspection requests, material approvals, and technical submissions.
• Inspect installation quality, pipe routing, slopes, levels, supports, and connections against approved drawings; resolve technical and drawing issues.
• Coordinate pressure, leakage, and drainage flow testing and other inspections before system approval.
• Monitor schedule progress and report delays, constraints, and corrective actions to the Project Manager.
• Ensure QA/QC, HSE, and UAE authority compliance; coordinate snagging, rectification, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documents.

Candidate requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant plumbing and drainage experience in building construction projects.
• UAE or GCC MEP contracting experience is preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of domestic water supply, sanitary drainage, soil and waste systems, rainwater drainage, and plumbing fixtures.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, specifications, and method statements; knowledge of installation standards, testing, and quality inspection requirements.
• Familiarity with UAE building regulations and authority requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; Revit/BIM knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong technical coordination, communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Pay

• AED 8,000–10,000 per month.
