Technical Manager - Civil

Role overview

Technical leadership and coordination

• Review and coordinate architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
• Oversee shop drawings, technical submittals, method statements, and material submissions.
• Coordinate technical matters with consultants, clients, design teams, subcontractors, and project teams.
• Guide project managers, project engineers, site engineers, and technical staff.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries, design clarifications, and value engineering proposals.
• Coordinate technical deliverables with planning, procurement, QA/QC, and construction teams.
• Review project specifications, BOQs, tender documents, and contract requirements.
• Lead technical meetings and monitor design development, approvals, and material submissions.

Compliance and project delivery

• Ensure construction follows approved technical documents, specifications, UAE regulations, and quality standards.
• Identify technical risks, design discrepancies, and site challenges; coordinate practical solutions.
• Support variations, design changes, non-conformances, site issue resolution, and technical documentation.
• Manage and mentor technical teams, allocate responsibilities, and monitor performance.
• Control and update technical documents and drawings; support handover, as-built documentation, testing, commissioning, and close-out.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 8–10 years of relevant construction or contracting experience, including technical leadership or management.
• Strong UAE/GCC building construction experience in residential, villa, townhouse, or high-rise projects is preferred.
• Proven experience managing technical departments or multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Technical qualifications

• Strong civil, structural, architectural, and MEP coordination knowledge.
• Experience reviewing construction drawings, technical submittals, specifications, and contractual documents.
• Knowledge of UAE construction standards, authority requirements, and applicable building regulations.
• Understanding of construction methodologies, design coordination, value engineering, and project execution.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and relevant engineering or project management software.
• Experience managing consultants, subcontractors, technical approvals, and client coordination.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize technical deliverables, and meet deadlines.

Pay

• AED 15,000–20,000 per month.
