Technical Engineer

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support for civil construction, infrastructure, roadworks, excavation, earthworks, and pipeline projects.
• Review drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and engineering documents; identify discrepancies, design conflicts, and site execution issues.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities to resolve technical issues.
• Prepare technical submittals, material approvals, shop drawings, method statements, and inspection requests.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Prepare quantity calculations, material requirements, technical reports, and progress documentation; coordinate material and equipment compliance with procurement and site teams.
• Monitor technical quality and support quality assurance and quality control procedures.
• Assist with project planning, schedules, progress tracking, and technical coordination.
• Maintain engineering records, drawing registers, inspection documents, and project correspondence.
• Support as-built drawings, handover documents, and project closeout; ensure compliance with UAE regulations, project specifications, company procedures, and HSE requirements.
• Identify technical risks and recommend practical solutions to reduce delays, rework, and additional costs.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• The overview asks for 5+ years of experience; the qualifications section states a minimum of 3–5 years in construction, civil infrastructure, or contracting projects.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, construction methods, technical specifications, and project documentation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of UAE construction standards, authority requirements, and HSE procedures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills; ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred experience and skills

• Experience in roadworks, earthworks, excavation, underground utilities, or pipeline projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with project planning and reporting tools is advantageous.
• Practical coordination with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and site teams is preferred.
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple technical tasks and deadlines, and willingness to visit project sites are preferred.

Pay

• The description states pay of AED 1.00 per month.
