QC Technician

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction activities and delivered materials against approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and material submittals.
• Support QC for earthworks, excavation, backfilling, compaction, roadworks, concrete, and other civil works.
• Coordinate field inspections and laboratory tests; assist with sampling and testing when required and appropriately trained.
• Check inspection and testing against approved ITPs, checklists, and procedures; record findings, measurements, and test results.
• Identify defects, discrepancies, and specification deviations; report issues and track non-conformities and corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection, material, laboratory, and QC records; coordinate with site teams to resolve issues.
• Monitor testing equipment condition and calibration; support audits, handover documentation, and applicable HSE procedures.

Qualifications and requirements

• Diploma or technical qualification in Civil Engineering, Civil Technology, Construction Technology, Materials Testing, or a related field.
• Practical knowledge of construction materials, inspection methods, and quality control procedures.
• Ability to understand basic engineering drawings, technical specifications, and inspection checklists.
• Knowledge of inspection records, test reports, material certificates, and non-conformance reporting.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word; good communication, reporting, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work on construction sites, coordinate with site personnel, and travel between project sites within Abu Dhabi when required.

Preferred experience

• Previous quality control, construction inspection, materials testing, or civil infrastructure experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with earthworks, soil compaction, aggregates, concrete, or road construction is advantageous.
• UAE project experience, laboratory coordination, WIR/IR, MIR, ITPs, NCRs, roads, utilities, earthworks, transportation infrastructure, or general contracting experience is preferred.

Compensation

• The description lists pay of AED 1.00 per month; this appears nominal and may not represent actual compensation.

Work location

• The position is on-site in Abu Dhabi.
• Travel between project sites within Abu Dhabi may be required.
