About LVT

LVT builds AI-driven intelligent site technology, including physical security units and an Agentic AI platform for safety, compliance, and operations.

About the role

Set technical direction for software across the UI and mission-critical backend services as an individual contributor with organization-wide impact.

Own architecture spanning React components, Next.js server actions, GraphQL federation, and real-time edge flows; solve systemic problems and multiply engineering team capability.

Role responsibilities

  • Drive cross-stack architecture, author foundational design documents, and deliver complex core components.
  • Debug systemic cross-service issues from frontend through backend subgraphs and authorization layers.
  • Govern GraphQL federation and data contracts, including safe schema evolution and migration paths.
  • Define SLOs, end-to-end tracing, and dashboards; improve reliability of WebSocket and device-control paths.
  • Mentor engineers, elevate code review and design practices, and lead cross-functional technical initiatives.
  • Remove engineering bottlenecks in type safety, CI/CD, legacy deprecation, and on-call ergonomics.

Experience and technical qualifications

  • 8+ years of TypeScript development experience across client and server, with production architecture leadership in React and Next.js App Router.
  • Deep production expertise with Node.js backend services; NestJS is preferred.
  • Strong GraphQL expertise including Apollo Server, schema design, federation, subscriptions, and N+1/DataLoader patterns.
  • Relational database and migration experience, query builders or ORMs, and working knowledge of scaling WebSocket real-time flows; MySQL is preferred.
  • Knowledge of OAuth/OIDC, JWT, ABAC/ReBAC, Docker, container orchestration, and CI/CD.
  • Ability to debug, test, and refactor complex legacy software that may lack documentation or test coverage.
  • Technical leadership and communication skills to align teams and business stakeholders around multi-quarter strategies.

Advantageous experience

  • RabbitMQ, MQTT, Cedar, OPA, OpenTelemetry, Sentry, Coralogix, Turbo, Bun, or physical security/video streaming experience is highly advantageous.
