About this role

Senior individual-contributor backend engineering role building scalable, production-grade microservices and APIs for LVT's intelligent site platform.

The role is based onsite at LVT's American Fork, Utah headquarters.

Role responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain backend features and API endpoints using Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Optimize backend architecture, API latency, and database query performance.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, QA, and DevOps on technical specifications, estimates, and releases.
  • Drive unit testing, code reviews, and technical documentation; resolve production defects through root-cause analysis.
  • Mentor peers and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and developer tooling.
  • Stay current on cloud architecture, server frameworks, and backend patterns.

Ideal candidate

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience shipping production microservices and APIs.
  • 3+ years building backend services with Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Hands-on REST/OpenAPI and/or GraphQL experience; familiarity with frameworks such as NestJS and containerized workflows using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
  • Relational database and SQL experience, including schema design optimization.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving, code quality, testing, communication, and Agile collaboration skills.
