Role overview
Oversee cost planning, commercial management, subcontracts, and financial control on high-value development and infrastructure projects in Dubai.
Protect the company's commercial interests and help deliver projects within allocated budgets.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare pre- and post-contract cost estimates, Bills of Quantities, elemental cost plans, and monthly commercial performance reports.
- Administer FIDIC contracts, manage contract conditions, and advise project managers on risk mitigation and contractual rights.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, tender reviews, price comparisons, negotiations, and awards.
- Evaluate and settle variation orders, additional-payment claims, extension-of-time costs, and final accounts.
- Prepare interim payment applications, verify subcontractor payment certificates, and monitor project cash flow.
- Conduct cost audits, maintain risk registers, and support commercial resolution or arbitration and dispute proceedings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Commercial Management.
- 8–12+ years of relevant experience, including at least 4–5 years in the UAE/GCC managing large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge of FIDIC contracts, POMI, NRM2, CESMM4, and Dubai Municipality/local authority frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in CostX, Candy (CCS), AutoCAD, Excel financial modeling, and SAP/Oracle ERP systems.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills; English proficiency required and Arabic fluency is a plus.
- MRICS or equivalent is strongly preferred.
