Establish budget baselines, monitor project expenses against forecasts, implement cost-control procedures, and report financial performance to executive management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain baseline budgets from tender calculations, contracts, and WBS/CBS structures.
- Monitor commitments and actual equipment, materials, and labor costs against budgets to identify variances.
- Conduct monthly CPI/SPI analyses and produce EAC and ETC reports.
- Prepare monthly cash-flow forecasts and reconcile site expenditure with finance teams.
- Review the financial effects of scope changes, variation orders, and subcontractor claims with commercial colleagues.
- Audit subcontractor payment applications, purchase orders, and supplier invoices before approval.
- Prepare monthly CVRs, financial progress reports, and risk dashboards for project leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or Finance/Accounting.
- 7–10+ years of project cost-control experience in civil, commercial building, or large-scale infrastructure construction.
- Advanced MS Excel expertise, including financial modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas, and macros.
- Strong proficiency with an ERP system such as SAP, Oracle Primavera Unifier, or PRISM.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6 to align cost profiles with project progress.
- Deep understanding of EVM and CBS, construction financial processes, and strong analytical and commercial skills.
