Sr. Procurement Engineer - Civil Contracting

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions, RFQs, purchase orders, and subcontract agreements; manage end-to-end procurement for civil construction projects.
• Source concrete, reinforcement steel, structural, finishing, waterproofing, block, tile, and other construction materials.
• Evaluate suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, quotations, and commercial offers; negotiate pricing and payment terms.
• Coordinate with project and site teams and quantity surveyors; review specifications, BOQs, material submittals, and procurement requirements.
• Track orders, deliveries, material availability, markets, prices, and supplier performance; identify savings and prevent delays.
• Ensure budget, procedure, contract, and policy compliance; maintain procurement records and coordinate invoices and supplier accounts with finance and commercial teams.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline; 8–12 years of relevant procurement experience in construction or contracting.
• Strong civil materials sourcing and purchasing experience; knowledge of construction materials, technical specifications, BOQs, and supplier markets.
• Proven negotiation ability and proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and coordination skills; able to manage multiple procurement packages and deadlines.

Preferred experience

• ERP systems and procurement software experience is an advantage.
• Main contracting experience, a local supplier network, supplier evaluation, subcontract negotiations, and procurement cost optimization are preferred.
• Familiarity with UAE/GCC construction procurement practices is an advantage.

Compensation

• Advertised pay is AED 8,000–10,000 per month.
