Role overview

Lead operational support for Social Security Scotland's Cúram Case Management System and associated batch processing services.

The service supports 17 benefit products and is responsible for service availability, platform stability, integration processing, and accurate client payments.

The role provides technical leadership and specialist expertise, shaping Application Operations Engineering and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain secure configuration and accurate information, including Cúram security and licence assets.
  • Manage service components to meet business needs, performance targets, and user outcomes.
  • Handle complex, high-impact change requests and lead incident and problem investigation, resolution, and prevention.
  • Monitor trends, identify root causes, address risks, and drive long-term service improvements.
  • Develop operational frameworks, procedures, standards, and documentation.
  • Lead system, functional, non-functional, and user acceptance testing planning and coordination.
  • Collaborate with researchers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to champion user needs and guide user-centred service improvement.
  • Liaise with IT operations leads about application performance and changes; potentially manage and maintain application components.

Candidate requirements

  • Strong hands-on application support experience.
  • Proven technical leadership skills.
  • A track record of leading teams delivering critical business services.

  • The team comprises in-house Application Operations Engineers and supplier System Business Analysts.
  • The service covers the Case Management System and associated batch processing services.

Pay supplement

  • The post attracts a £3,000 annual Government Digital and Data profession pay supplement, paid monthly and subject to regular review.

Location

  • The listed locations are Dundee and Glasgow.

Contract and working pattern

  • The role is permanent and full-time.
