Role Overview
A leading UAE financial institution is seeking an experienced Solution Architect for its Open Finance and Woven platform team.
The role will design and deliver a regulated Open Finance ecosystem and enable API-led integrations for partners and fintechs.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve end-to-end architecture for the Woven platform and Open Finance API ecosystem.
- Design scalable CBUAE-compliant and direct-to-partner commercial API architectures.
- Manage API platform strategy, developer portals, partner onboarding, and API monetization.
- Lead API control plane design and implementation, including platforms such as Kong and OpenMeter.
- Maintain architecture decision records and align architecture across stakeholders.
- Embed regulatory, security, risk, compliance, and audit controls into architecture and delivery pipelines.
- Collaborate across product, engineering, risk, and executive leadership.
- Provide architectural oversight across Retail, SME, and Corporate banking domains.
- Drive AI-enabled automation for architecture design, documentation, testing, and governance.
- Translate business strategies into technical solutions and implementation roadmaps.
- Assess emerging technologies and provide innovation recommendations.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 10 years of solution architecture experience in digital banking, Open Banking or Open Finance, or regulated API platforms.
- Strong knowledge of the UAE Open Finance framework, CBUAE requirements, FAPI 2.0, mTLS, and SCA.
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale API platforms, API gateways, cloud platforms, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Deep understanding of OAuth2, OIDC, FAPI, SOC 2, BCBS 239, and PDPL.
- Experience in Tier-1 banking or regulated environments and strong executive-to-engineering stakeholder management.
- AI experience in architecture or SDLC processes and the ability to drive strategic technical decisions independently.
- AWS experience is preferred.
