Scrum Master - Banking (m/f/d)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead Scrum teams and facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews or demos, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
• Coach teams in Agile maturity, collaboration, and self-organization; identify process gaps and promote continuous improvement.
• Support Product Owners with backlog management and prioritization, and prepare user stories for sprint planning.
• Identify and remove impediments; resolve delivery issues and conflicts within teams and across stakeholders.
• For larger projects, maintain project plans and monitor quality, timelines, performance, resources, risks, dependencies, and progress.
• Collaborate with IT, business, marketing, customer service, and other stakeholders; maintain Jira boards and sprint tracking.

Required experience

• Strong hands-on experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead.
• Strong understanding of Scrum, Agile methodologies, SDLC, and modern software development practices.
• Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies, coaching teams, working with cross-functional teams, and engaging business stakeholders.
• Strong experience with Jira and Confluence; proven ability to identify and remove impediments.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

Preferred and additional qualifications

• Financial services or banking experience is described as required or strongly preferred; experience supporting digital transformation in financial services is also requested.
• Web and mobile application knowledge is advantageous; CRM, cloud platforms, and knowledge of financial services regulations or industry standards are advantageous or desirable.
• A bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, IT, Science, or a related technical field is preferred.
• PSM and SSM certifications are each listed as required/preferred, with no clear distinction.

Tools and deliverables

• Tools include Jira and Confluence.
• Deliverables include accurate sprint boards, managed backlogs, refined user stories, effective Scrum ceremonies, and improved team Agile maturity.
• Track and resolve impediments and maintain clear project progress, risk, dependency, and delivery information.
