Senior Software Engineer III role within Nike's Geographies and Marketplace Experiences team.
Builds high-throughput, low-latency, fault-tolerant retail store cloud checkout capabilities.
The team modernizes and scales in-store applications and cloud-based services.
Responsibilities
- Develop backend cloud-native microservices and scalable services for retail checkout.
- Write tested, documented code and participate in peer reviews and mentoring.
- Support agile delivery, sprint planning, Scrum ceremonies, and continuous improvement.
- Use generative AI capabilities such as RAG, prompt-driven workflows, MCP, and spec-driven architectures.
- Own design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, operations, releases, and production support.
- Improve platform performance, reliability, scalability, usability, and availability.
- Implement observability, monitoring, alerting, incident resolution, and operational readiness.
Required qualifications
- At least 7 years of software development experience.
- Experience with technical architecture, application design, distributed systems, and cloud environments.
- Mandatory Java and Spring Boot experience with microservices, domain-driven design, and RESTful services.
- Experience with test-driven development, automated testing, continuous integration, and static analysis.
- Experience with NoSQL and relational databases and with monitoring and tracing tools.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a relevant subject area, or equivalent experience.
Technical skills
- Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure environments.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, or Playwright.
- Experience with Jenkins, GitHub workflows, Splunk, and SignalFx.
- Working knowledge of Scrum and agile principles.
- Continuous delivery and highly scalable web application experience are preferred.
- Point of Sale application experience is preferred.
Location
- The listed work location is the India Technology Center in Karnataka, India.
