Position overview

Full-time Lead Software Engineer position in NIKE’s India Technology Center, within Geographies and Marketplace Experiences.

The team builds a high-throughput, low-latency, fault-tolerant Order Management platform supporting Nike’s digital transformation.

The organization modernizes product data services and builds scalable applications and tools used across Nike consumer experiences.

What you will do

  • Build next-generation tools and services for consumer-ready product information and back-end teams.
  • Lead large-scale initiatives, architect scalable solutions, make strategic technical decisions and drive cross-functional delivery.
  • Own project execution from requirements and design through implementation, coordination and delivery.
  • Support code reviews, observability, maintenance and operational readiness.
  • Use AI-powered developer tools and contribute technical expertise to the team’s strategic direction.

Required qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of software development experience; at least six years working with Java and relevant frameworks.
  • Experience in collaborative multidisciplinary teams and distributed or cloud-based environments.
  • Strong experience with microservices, domain-driven design, RESTful services, Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience leading large-scale initiatives and independently delivering projects end to end.
  • Experience with test-driven development, observability, monitoring, tracing, data stores and continuous integration.
  • Working knowledge of Scrum and agile principles; experience with globally distributed teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a relevant subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with CI/CD and Jenkins, GitHub workflows, Splunk and SignalFx; continuous delivery experience is preferred.
  • Experience delivering Generative AI solutions and hands-on experience implementing Order Management Solutions using IBM Sterling.
  • Scalable web application design, eCommerce and supply-chain domain exposure are listed as nice to have.
