Role Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain backend features and API endpoints using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Optimize backend architecture, API latency, and database query performance as the platform expands.
• Partner with Product Management, QA, and DevOps on specifications, estimates, and releases.
• Drive unit testing, code reviews, and comprehensive technical documentation.
• Perform root-cause analysis and resolve complex production defects to protect uptime and data integrity.
• Provide technical guidance and feedback to fellow engineers.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and developer tooling.
• Stay current with modern cloud architecture, server frameworks, and backend patterns.

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of professional backend engineering experience shipping production microservices and APIs.
• At least 3 years of hands-on Node.js and TypeScript backend-services experience.
• Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs using OpenAPI and/or GraphQL queries and mutations.
• Familiarity with server frameworks such as NestJS and containerized Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD workflows.
• Practical relational database, SQL, and schema design optimization experience.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills for evolving requirements.
• Commitment to clean code, thorough unit and integration testing, and maintainable backend software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• Must pass a drug screening and background check upon employment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
