Senior Software Engineer, Applied AI (Frontend Leading)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design and build end-to-end Generative AI-powered applications with web-based interfaces and client-side API integrations.
• Develop responsive, accessible React, TypeScript, or Vue interfaces for streaming responses and low latency.
• Maintain reusable frontend components, hooks, and design systems for enterprise Generative AI applications.
• Implement LLM-based experiences using LangChain, LlamaIndex, and leading model providers.
• Collaborate with designers and product managers on chat assistants, prompt builders, and feedback loops.
• Ensure security, accessibility, observability, and test coverage across client-side and full-stack implementations.

Required qualifications

• At least 5 years of production experience with React, TypeScript, or Vue for enterprise web applications.
• At least 5 years of software engineering experience across frontend UIs, REST APIs, and microservices.
• At least 2 years of experience integrating Generative AI features, LLM APIs, and prompt UI patterns into web applications.
• Strong Python backend development skills and at least 2 years of experience with AWS, Docker, and REST APIs.
• Proven experience building, documenting, and maintaining reusable component libraries, design systems, and custom hooks.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with real-time streaming UX patterns, prompt builders, citations, and summary UI components.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA compliance and accessible UI component architecture.
• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or LlamaIndex orchestration.
• Familiarity with RAG pipelines, vector search, embedding concepts, AI evaluation tooling, feedback loops, and guardrails.

Compensation

• Salary range: CA$150,000-CA$165,000.
• Individual compensation offers depend on experience, credentials, education, training, skills, and local labor market considerations.
