Role overview

The expert will reinforce the Power System Operations and Security team.

Projects focus on renewable integration, security of supply, sustainability, and economic efficiency of power systems.

Responsibilities will be determined based on the candidate's competencies and expertise.

Typical activities

  • Analyze and define operational principles; define and validate models.
  • Conduct steady-state studies, including load flow and short-circuit calculations.
  • Analyze dynamic stability, including frequency and voltage stability.
  • Conduct Grid Code and connection-compliance studies.
  • Evaluate grid reliability and security, including capacity calculation, balancing, and operational planning.
  • Support business development by pursuing opportunities, building client relationships, and developing proposals.

Profile

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Physics.
  • Around 10 years of experience in power system operations and security, including balancing, renewable integration, and system operation.
  • Experience with HVDC, FACTS, and power electronics studies, including transient stability, fault analysis, and dynamic performance.
  • Translate complex data into strategic insights and actions.
  • Knowledge of PowerFactory, PSSE, and PSCAD simulation tools.
  • Fluent English; Arabic and knowledge of the region are strong assets.
