Senior Electrical Engineer (Landscapping)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical works on landscape construction and infrastructure projects; oversee landscape, outdoor, decorative, and street lighting installation and commissioning.
• Coordinate electrical requirements for irrigation systems, pumps, fountains, water features, and associated plant rooms.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, BOQs, load schedules, material submittals, shop drawings, method statements, inspection requests, and testing documentation.
• Coordinate with design professionals, clients, consultants, subcontractors, procurement, and project teams.
• Supervise cables, conduits, distribution boards, control panels, earthing, and electrical protection systems; ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, regulations, and authority requirements.
• Monitor site progress, manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractor performance, project costs, material usage, variations, and resources.
• Inspect work and resolve technical issues, installation defects, and coordination clashes.
• Ensure HSE compliance, especially for outdoor installations and work near water features.
• Lead electrical testing, commissioning, snagging, rectification, and final handover; provide technical guidance to engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain project, inspection, and commissioning records; coordinate necessary authority approvals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 8 years of relevant electrical engineering experience; substantial UAE project experience is preferred.
• Proven landscape construction project experience is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of landscape lighting, outdoor electrical installations, power distribution, cabling, and control systems.
• Experience with irrigation pumps, fountains, water features, or swimming pool electrical systems is an advantage.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, BOQs, specifications, and technical documents; experience in site supervision, contractor coordination, testing, and commissioning.
• Knowledge of UAE electrical regulations and applicable authority requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; project planning tools are an advantage.
• Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• UAE driving licence is described as preferred/required in the source.
