Agriculture Engineer (Landscape Engineer)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise landscape construction, planting, horticultural, and agricultural development activities, including softscape and turf establishment.
• Manage irrigation systems, water-use efficiency, soil improvement, plant nutrition, fertilization, and plant health.
• Assess sites, soil, drainage, and environmental conditions; supervise land preparation, grading, planting, transplanting, and rehabilitation.
• Coordinate with design and engineering teams, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams; review drawings, layouts, BOQs, and technical submissions.
• Manage site labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, schedules, quality, costs, and resource allocation.
• Conduct inspections, monitor progress, resolve technical issues, prepare reports, and maintain compliance with project and safety requirements.
• Coordinate plant procurement, nursery selection, acclimatization, and transplantation where required.
• Support maintenance teams to improve plant survival, turf quality, irrigation performance, and landscape conditions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agriculture, Horticulture, Landscape Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 7–10 years of relevant experience in agricultural engineering, landscaping, horticulture, irrigation, or landscape construction.
• UAE experience in landscaping, irrigation, or agricultural projects is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of softscape installation, planting, turfing, soil improvement, plant nutrition, and irrigation systems.
• Experience in landscape construction or major landscape development projects is highly preferred.
• Good understanding of planting plans, landscape drawings, irrigation layouts, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of plant species suited to UAE climate and soil conditions, pest and disease management, fertilization, soil amendments, and water-efficient irrigation.
• Experience in site supervision, manpower management, contractor coordination, and progress monitoring; strong communication, reporting, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

• Work location is in person; the role includes landscape project and site supervision.
