MEP BIM Modeler/Coordinator

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D models for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and associated services.
• Update models from design drawings, technical specifications, shop drawings, and project requirements.
• Coordinate MEP models with architectural, structural, civil, and other engineering disciplines; identify and resolve clashes.
• Coordinate with design engineers, BIM teams, consultants, contractors, and site teams on technical issues.
• Prepare coordinated shop drawings, sections, layouts, and installation details; update deliverables after design changes.
• Conduct coordination meetings, track clash reports, and follow BIM execution plans, naming conventions, modeling standards, and LOD requirements.
• Support quantity extraction, material take-offs, installation, as-built modeling, and project handover.
• Maintain model version control and documentation, guide junior modelers, and submit complete deliverables on schedule.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of relevant MEP BIM experience, including senior-level modeling and coordination responsibilities.
• Strong experience in construction and MEP contracting projects.
• Advanced Autodesk Revit MEP proficiency and working knowledge of Navisworks Manage.
• Understand HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems; interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Experience resolving clashes and coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams; knowledge of BIM execution plans, LOD requirements, and project standards.
• AutoCAD and Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360 experience is advantageous.
• UAE construction project experience is preferred; strong technical coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills are requested.
