Senior Electrical Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Supervise on-site power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, earthing, lightning protection, and low-voltage works.
• Review electrical design and shop drawings, submittals, specifications, and method statements.
• Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, UAE regulations, and international standards.
• Coordinate with MEP, civil, and architectural teams and liaise with project stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Inspect work quality and progress; prepare and review RFIs, reports, inspection requests, and engineering records.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and schedules; coordinate material approvals, evaluations, and procurement requirements.
• Ensure QA/QC, health and safety, and quality-standard compliance.
• Coordinate testing, inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
• Coordinate DEWA and other applicable UAE authority approvals and inspections.
• Supervise installation and testing of panels, transformers, generators, UPS systems, and other applicable equipment.
• Review as-built drawings, O&M manuals, test reports, and handover documents; provide technical guidance to site teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of UAE construction industry experience in electrical engineering works.
• Building construction experience; residential towers, commercial buildings, hotels, or mixed-use developments are preferred project types.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, earthing, lightning protection, and electrical systems.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings, technical submittals, method statements, RFIs, and material approvals.
• Understanding of UAE electrical regulations, DEWA requirements, and relevant international standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit MEP and Navisworks knowledge is advantageous.
• Experience in site inspections, quality control, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
• Strong coordination, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; able to work with multidisciplinary teams.
