Role overview

Lead the design, development and support of Power BI reporting solutions for Social Security Scotland.

Work in the Data Services Team with complex datasets and enterprise data platforms.

Support a managed self-service reporting model and help colleagues use data and reporting tools effectively.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, publish and support Power BI reports and dashboards from requirements through delivery.
  • Translate business needs into user-focused visualisations and reporting products.
  • Set reporting standards and promote governance and data best practice.
  • Conduct complex analysis and produce reports, dashboards, presentations and briefings for varied audiences.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops on data and reporting matters.
  • Peer review analysis, resolve reporting issues and validate outputs.
  • Define data governance mechanisms and support BI platforms and data integration.
  • Apply data quality methods, maintain metadata standards and manage diverse datasets.
  • Manage analysis projects and share knowledge with colleagues.

Role capabilities

  • Strong Power BI development expertise, including Power BI Service, data analysis and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work with complex data and convert business requirements into meaningful reporting and visualisations.
  • Ability to guide others and communicate with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Location and contract

  • The listed locations are Dundee and Glasgow.
  • The post is permanent and full-time.

Salary

  • The stated salary range is £49,401–£59,152.
