Role overview

Senior Data Analyst (Report Developer) in Social Security Scotland's Data Services Team.

Leads end-to-end development of Power BI dashboards and reports, from requirements through publication and support in Power BI Service.

Permanent, full-time role; two vacancies.

Salary range is £49,401 to £59,152.

Location information in the description lists Dundee and Glasgow.

Role duties

  • Design, develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards, including publication and support in Power BI Service.
  • Translate stakeholder reporting requirements into accurate, user-focused visualisations and reporting products.
  • Promote managed self-service reporting, standards, governance and best practice.
  • Carry out complex data analysis and synthesis and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Run meetings and workshops, peer review analysis and resolve reporting issues.
  • Define data management and governance mechanisms and contribute to corporate data patterns and standards.
  • Carry out data mapping and pipelining for data integration and apply data quality methods.
  • Meet metadata standards, work with diverse datasets and manage data analysis projects.

Role requirements

  • Strong technical expertise in Power BI, including Power BI Service.
  • Power BI Developer, BI Developer or Reporting Analyst experience is described as an ideal fit.
  • Ability to work with complex data, translate business needs into visualisations and engage stakeholders.
  • Ability to guide others in data preparation, management and use.
