Senior AML Specialist, Investigations

Conduct end-to-end financial crime investigations arising from transaction monitoring, internal escalations and other AML controls.

Analyse transaction activity, customer profiles, KYC information, on-chain activity and other relevant data to identify potential suspicious activity.

Prepare clear and well-supported investigation conclusions, including recommendations on whether cases should be escalated for STR/SAR filing.

Draft STR/SAR narratives and supporting documentation in accordance with internal standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

Ensure assigned investigations and STR/SAR cases are completed accurately and within required timelines.

Identify complex, high-risk or unusual cases and escalate them to the STR / Investigations Manager or relevant MLRO.

Maintain complete and accurate case records with clear audit trails and supporting evidence.

Work with Transaction Monitoring, KYC, AML Operations and other Compliance teams to obtain information required for investigations.

Identify emerging typologies, recurring risk patterns and potential control gaps observed through investigations.

Support quality reviews, regulatory enquiries, audits and remediation activities relating to investigations and suspicious transaction reporting.

Strong investigative mindset and attention to detail.

Able to assess complex information and form clear, evidence-based conclusions.

Comfortable escalating concerns and challenging information where something does not appear consistent.

Hands-on, organised and able to manage a high-volume investigation queue.

Strong focus on quality, accuracy and regulatory defensibility.

Interested in crypto and digital assets, with a willingness to develop deeper knowledge of blockchain-based financial crime risks.

Comfortable using technology and AI tools to improve investigation quality, consistency and efficiency.
