Senior Accountant

Role overview

Accounting and financial control

• Prepare balance sheets and profit and loss statements, and complete monthly and annual book closing on time.
• Conduct internal audit checks to ensure financial controls are in place and followed.
• Maintain the fixed-asset register and depreciation tracking; calculate monthly staff provisions for gratuity, leave salary, and airfare.
• Assist with annual company and project budgets.
• Prepare monthly project cost sheets tracking material, labor, and overhead consumption by site.
• Compare actual and budgeted cash flows to support management liquidity planning.

Operations and compliance

• Manage supplier and subcontractor payments and client collections, including follow-up on outstanding amounts.
• Handle supplier issues involving damaged goods, shortages, or incorrect items.
• Manage UAE Corporate Tax filing and submission under Federal Tax Authority regulations.
• Manage daily accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and VAT.
• Prepare financial statements, cost reports, and cash-flow forecasts; comply with company policies and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience with a main contracting company; experience in the UAE is preferred.
• Deep knowledge of UAE VAT, including tax treatment of standard-rated and zero-rated construction services, and UAE Corporate Tax regulations.
• Ability to allocate costs to projects using job costing and assess site profitability.
• Proficiency preparing financial statements under IFRS; strong proficiency in SAP, ERP systems, and accounting software.
• Knowledge of project accounting and construction cost control, with excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• Immediate availability is preferred.

Compensation

• Pay starts at AED 7,000 per month.
