Senior Accountant

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of balance sheets and profit and loss statements and close monthly and annual books on time.
• Conduct internal audit checks to ensure financial controls are in place and followed.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation tracking; calculate monthly staff provisions for end-of-service benefits, leave salary, and airfare.
• Assist with annual company and project budgets.
• Prepare monthly project cost sheets tracking materials, labor, and overhead by site.
• Compare actual and budgeted cash flows to support liquidity planning.
• Manage supplier and subcontractor payments and client collections, following up on outstanding payments.
• Resolve supplier issues involving damaged goods, shortages, or incorrect items.
• Manage UAE Corporate Tax filings and submissions in compliance with FTA regulations.
• Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and VAT.
• Prepare financial statements, cost reports, and cash flow forecasts.
• Ensure regulatory and policy compliance; coordinate with auditors, consultants, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience with a main contracting company; UAE experience is preferred.
• Deep understanding of UAE VAT laws, including standard-rated and zero-rated construction services, and UAE Corporate Tax regulations.
• Ability to allocate costs to specific projects using job costing to determine site profitability.
• Proficiency preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements according to IFRS.
• Strong proficiency in SAP, ERP systems, and accounting software.
• Knowledge of project accounting and construction cost control.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• Immediate availability is preferred.

Pay

• Pay starts at AED 7,000 per month.

• Work is in person in Dubai, UAE.
