Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for the construction or contracting business.
• Handle subcontractor invoices, payments, retention, deductions, reconciliations, payment applications, and supporting documents.
• Coordinate payment approvals with Project, QS, Procurement, and Commercial teams; verify invoices against contracts, purchase orders, completion certificates, and approvals.
• Prepare payment schedules and monitor outstanding subcontractor balances.
• Manage VAT accounting, VAT invoices, input/output VAT, documentation, returns, and related reconciliations.
• Account for project costs, expenses, advances, and accruals; reconcile bank, supplier, subcontractor, and general ledger accounts.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable and ensure timely payment processing.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, schedules, and management reports; maintain records and supporting documents.
• Assist with audits and provide required financial records and reconciliations.
• Follow company accounting procedures and applicable UAE tax requirements.

Requirements

• At least 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Mandatory previous experience in a UAE construction or contracting company; candidates without this experience will not be considered.
• Practical knowledge of subcontractor payments and payment certification processes.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT and VAT approval and documentation procedures.
• Experience handling project-related accounting and construction expenses.
• Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Strong MS Excel skills and experience with accounting or ERP software.
• Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple project-related transactions, and good communication and coordination skills.
• Subcontractor accounts, payment applications, retention, VAT invoices/returns, project cost accounting, and payment approvals are strongly preferred.
