Registered Nurse

Job Purpose

Clinical Duties

• Assess patients through physical examinations, vital signs, and symptom monitoring; develop and update individualized care plans.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, monitor for adverse effects, and provide wound care.
• Assist with medical procedures and diagnostic tests; educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and prevention.
• Observe and document patient conditions, report significant changes, respond to emergencies, and follow emergency protocols.
• Conduct purposeful rounds and follow infection-control standards, including PPE, hand hygiene, hazardous-material handling, surveillance, and reporting.
• Maintain patient items and equipment cleanliness and apply evidence-based practices to improve outcomes.

Administrative and Support Duties

• Maintain detailed patient records and communicate with patients, families, and the care team to support coordinated care.
• Provide emotional support, advocate for patient needs and rights, and incorporate cultural values into care planning.
• Participate in ongoing education and training; oversee and support junior staff and nursing students.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other professionals; identify care issues and contribute to improvements.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience. Staff with less than one year of experience will go through the RN residency program.

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal skills and service orientation; ability to manage work pressure and work in a team.
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and typing.
• Clerical skills including preparing agendas, taking meeting minutes, and scanning documents.
