Lead and manage the Clinical Software Solution team, including performance management, mentoring, and professional development.
Translate product strategy set by the Chief Products Officer into actionable plans for clinical software development and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee design, development, testing, and implementation of clinical applications aligned with healthcare workflows and patient-care requirements.
- Collaborate with clinicians, healthcare professionals, and product managers to identify requirements and prioritize development based on patient safety and organizational strategy.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data standards, and privacy/security frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, Saudi MOH, SCFHS).
- Align clinical software roadmaps with corporate product portfolios, ensuring interoperability with HIS/EHR systems and other enterprise platforms.
- Direct integration and interoperability initiatives following standards such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM, and ICD.
- Manage system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of clinical applications.
- Drive innovation by evaluating and implementing emerging technologies (AI, IoMT, RPA, mobile health apps) into clinical software solutions.
- Coordinate with the CPO and product management teams to define KPIs, measure outcomes, and ensure solutions deliver measurable value.
- Oversee vendor evaluation, procurement, and partnerships for third-party clinical applications and technologies.
- Manage budgets, resources, and project timelines, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery of solutions.
- Develop end-user adoption strategies, training programs, and change management initiatives to drive engagement.
- Ensure robust cybersecurity measures, disaster recovery, and business continuity for all clinical systems.
Requirements
- Strong program and project management skills with experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Expertise in interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM, ICD).
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills in healthcare IT.
- Ability to manage vendor relationships and evaluate third-party solutions.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to balance product vision with clinical requirements and technical feasibility.
- Commitment to patient safety, regulatory compliance, and ethical practices in healthcare technology.
- 8+ years of experience in clinical software, HIS/EHR, or healthcare IT, with at least 4-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Education and Language
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees or certifications in software development or healthcare IT are a plus.
- Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic is preferred.
- SCE license/certification listed as a requirement.
Additional Duties
Represent the Clinical Software Solution unit in cross-functional product and technology forums led by the CPO.
Regularly report progress, risks, and achievements to the Chief Products Officer, highlighting alignment with overall product vision.
Foster collaboration across IT, Product, and Clinical departments to ensure seamless integration and adoption of digital health solutions.
Stay updated with global healthcare IT trends, regulatory updates, and product innovation practices to maintain market competitiveness.
