QA/QC Engineer

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Implement project quality plans, inspection and test plans, and approved quality procedures.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements, and technical submissions for quality requirements.
• Inspect incoming materials and verify compliance with approved submissions and supporting certificates.
• Conduct work-stage inspections and coordinate consultant inspections and approvals.
• Prepare and maintain material and work inspection requests, test reports, and quality records.
• Identify non-conforming materials or works, issue reports, and verify corrective actions before closure.
• Coordinate testing with approved laboratories and review results against project requirements.
• Monitor subcontractor workmanship and highlight recurring defects or quality concerns.
• Support site teams in preventing defects, reducing rework, and improving workmanship.
• Maintain inspection trackers and follow up on approvals, test results, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate snagging, final inspections, and quality documentation for project handover.
• Report quality performance, unresolved issues, and improvement requirements to the Project Manager.

Experience and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• At least five years of relevant QA/QC experience in construction or contracting, including UAE project experience.
• Strong knowledge of inspection procedures, material approvals, testing, and quality documentation.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and testing laboratories.
• Working knowledge of quality management systems; ISO 9001 training is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, reporting, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Relevant inspection or quality auditing certifications are preferred.

Pay

• AED 3,300 to AED 10,000 per month.
