MEP Project Manager

About the role

Project delivery and commercial responsibilities

• Lead project delivery, site surveys, design development, and engineering coordination; manage scope, cost, schedule, and technical or commercial issues.
• Own P&L, budgets, forecasts, cash flow, cost control, margins, and recovery of payments; improve profitability through optimization and effective variation and claims management.
• Coordinate authority submissions, approvals, and inspections, including SEWA, through appropriately approved parties.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, procurement schedules, mobilisation, resources, and project programmes.
• Lead project teams, oversee site supervision, monitor delays, and implement recovery plans.
• Manage risks and enforce HSE and quality controls; ensure safety-critical permits, isolations, switching, and energisation are handled by authorised personnel.
• Manage client and consultant relationships, progress reports, testing, commissioning, documentation, training, defect closure, and final handover.

Technical experience and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent relevant engineering qualification.
• More than 10 years managing electrical infrastructure or power distribution projects in the UAE or GCC.
• Experience delivering power distribution upgrades from survey and design through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Experience coordinating SEWA approvals, inspections, and compliance, supported by verifiable project references.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering coordination, site execution, testing, commissioning, and energisation.
• Experience assessing and managing subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist vendors.
• Knowledge of project planning, procurement, contract administration, variations, claims, authority approvals, and the limits of technical sign-off and operational authorisations.

Management requirements and preferences

• Demonstrated ownership of project P&L, budgets, margins, cost forecasts, and cash flow.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage complex interfaces, and make technical and commercial decisions within delegated limits.
• Strong client, consultant, subcontractor, and authority relationship management; practical risk management, problem-solving, and recovery planning.
• Strong written and spoken English required; Arabic communication skills are an added advantage.
• PMP or equivalent certification, Primavera P6 or MS Project proficiency, and a UAE driving licence are preferred.
