QA/QC Engineer – Civil

Role overview

Quality control and inspections

• Implement and monitor the project QA/QC plan.
• Inspect excavation, backfilling, foundations, reinforcement, formwork, concrete, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, and finishes, as applicable.
• Check compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, method statements, applicable codes, and standards.
• Inspect construction materials against approved submittals and project specifications.

Documentation and testing

• Prepare, review, and submit ITPs, checklists, method statements, and other quality documents; coordinate IRs and MIRs for client and consultant review.
• Coordinate concrete sampling, slump and compressive-strength tests, soil compaction tests, and other required material testing.
• Maintain inspection records, test reports, material approvals, quality documentation, and inspection logs.
• Support as-built documentation, quality dossiers, and project handover documents.

Coordination and corrective action

• Monitor site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and project personnel for adherence to quality procedures.
• Identify quality issues, raise NCRs, and follow up corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams to resolve quality issues and obtain approvals.
• Conduct internal quality audits.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Relevant QA/QC experience in building construction, infrastructure, or civil engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and applicable quality standards.
• Experience preparing and reviewing ITPs, inspection checklists, NCRs, and quality documentation.
• Familiarity with concrete, reinforcement, earthworks, waterproofing, and other civil construction inspection procedures.
• Knowledge of relevant ASTM, BS, ACI, or other applicable standards, depending on project requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Office; good communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with project teams, consultants, and clients.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience on consultant-supervised construction projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems is preferred.
• Relevant QA/QC certifications and client or consultant approvals are preferred where applicable.

Compensation

• The posting states pay of AED 5,000–5,500 per month.
