Project Engineer – Fire Fighting Systems

Role overview

Project delivery

• Manage projects from planning through completion and handover; coordinate clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and site teams.
• Review design and shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical specifications.
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of sprinklers, hose reels, hydrants, fire pumps, and piping networks.
• Coordinate ventilation work as required by project scope and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, NFPA standards, and local authority requirements.
• Monitor progress, manpower allocation, procurement, and site activities against schedules; coordinate design and drafting submissions.
• Attend project meetings, resolve technical and site issues, monitor quality, and ensure installation meets standards.
• Supervise flushing, pressure testing, commissioning, and final inspections; prepare progress, project, and handover documents.
• Identify project risks and technical challenges and implement solutions to support timely completion.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least five years of relevant fire protection and/or ventilation experience.
• Proven project experience delivering fire fighting system projects.
• Knowledge of fire fighting systems, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance requirements.
• Familiarity with NFPA standards and local civil defence and authority regulations.
• Experience in project planning, site supervision, technical coordination, and subcontractor management.
• Ability to review engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation; strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience on commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Coordination with consultants, clients, and authorities for inspections and approvals is preferred.
• Knowledge of scheduling, procurement, cost control, and progress reporting is preferred; relevant certifications and authority approvals are preferred where applicable.

Compensation

• Pay is AED 7,000–8,000 per month.
